Crazy times. Are you ready?

It’s been really interesting this week hearing some of the highly successful people I follow – in business, entrepreneurship and even in the copywriting space – saying that “there’s never been a better time to sell your product or service online”.

And, I have to say, they’ve got a point.

There are certainly going to be a LOT of people staying home over the next few weeks, maybe even months, with extra time on their hands.

No commuting.

No networking or attending events.

No going out shopping or meeting friends for a coffee.

Shops, roads and offices are going to be VERY quiet.

So, what will people do with all the spare time they suddenly have?

Well …

Maybe they’ll shop more online.

Maybe they’ll spend more time on social media.

Maybe they’ll actually read the emails that come into their inbox.

Maybe they’ll sign up for that webinar they’ve been meaning to watch.

Or finally get round to thinking about the new website they want.

Or look for someone to help them with their social media.

Maybe they’ll use this unexpected downtime to work on their business (rather than just in it).

Maybe they’ll be in the market for an online course, a virtual workshop, some coaching sessions, or whatever it is that YOU offer.

So, what does that mean for you and your business?

It means that how you talk about you do is more important than ever.

Your audience might be at home. Reading. Listening. Watching.

NOW is the time to make sure all the posts, emails, videos and content you’re putting out there are working for you.

If your business is mainly offline, now is the time to review, adjust, reassess, reset and even pivot if makes sense to. Businesses that don’t adapt to what’s going on in the world right now risk getting left behind.

So, your online presence is more important than ever.

As Seth Godin said “make things better, by making things better”.


  • Is your offer clear and compelling?
  • Do people understand it?
  • Do they know what you do and how it’s going to make their life better?
  • Do they want what you’re selling?
  • Are they looking for exactly what you’re offering, in the way you describe it?
