When upholsterer Sarita Greenham came to one of my Story Clinics, she loved the idea of telling the story behind how each of the beautiful cushions she made came to be.
Like the cushion she created with the cuts from a 1960’s Sanderson sample book that she bought at a car boot sale. A note inside the front cover revealed that the book had originally belonged to a Mr Tom Cooper of 187A Whitehall Road, Drighlington.
And the cushion she made from fabric given to her by a 95-year-old woman, who never threw anything away. The woman had had the material in her cupboard for over 30 years.
Stories are everywhere. Look around you for the ones that add value, intrigue and narrative to your products and services, and help bring them to life.
